Researchers Identify New Enzyme to Fight Alzheimer’s

Researchers at the Mayo Clinic in Florida recently discovered an enzyme – dubbed BACE 2 – that cuts the plaque build-up (beta-amyloid) in the brain of those with Alzheimer’s. The study’s author said that this enzyme is an especially attractive candidate for gene therapy to treat Alzheimer’s disease.
